Who we are
Jamaica Weightlifting is the public-facing identity of The National Weightlifting Association of Jamaica (NWAJ).
We are the recognised national governing body for the sport of weightlifting in Jamaica, established to promote, develop and educate a nation of lifters.
Building on Jamaicas Heritage
Jamaica’s Olympic weightlifting heritage stretches back to the London 1948 Olympic Games and the athletes, coaches, officials and volunteers who have represented and developed the sport across generations.
NWAJ seeks to honour this history while creating the modern systems, opportunities and pathways needed to take Jamaican weightlifting forward.
